Painting a wedding jean jacket.
I purchased this used jean jacket from a thrift store.
I knew that I wanted to paint it in some way.
At the time, I was painting a lot of couples, and wedding scenes.
With that, I decided to paint a bride and groom.
The bride and groom are depicted from the back view.
I started by drawing an outline of the bride and groom.
I decided to sew the wedding dress onto the bride.
I went to purchase white fabric at a craft store.
I cut small pieces of fabric and aligned the pieces with the woman's body.
I sewed each piece on the jacket by hand because I don't know how to use a sewing machine.
Needless to say, it was very time consuming, but I did enjoy the process.
This jacket is truly one of a kind.
It is hand painted, and hand sewn.
There would be no worries of running into someone else wearing the same design.
In fact, I created this image from my own imagination.
My drawings have changed since the time that I drew the image on this jacket.
I have now discovered that my drawings look more life like if I am looking at an actual photo while drawing.
I am not able to draw an exact replica of what I am looking at, but I still get a very good image.
This has been life changing for me.
I am very drawn to brides when it comes to drawing, and painting.
I especially love to capture the folds, bends, and ruffles in the dress.
These details are very important, and help to create a beautiful design.
I also enjoy re-creating the hairstyle of the bride, or creating a hairstyle of my own.
Honestly, I like drawing, and painting the jewelry, headdress, and bouquet, along with the wedding gown, and hair.
Each feature plays its own special part.
I guess I like creating all things girly.
I am re-branding to culturally diverse hand painted graphics for the fashionista, and this website will be disabled June 30, 2025.
