Spray Painted Blazer

Spray painted blazer.

I intended to order one new black blazer from an online store.

When the package arrived, I discovered that I had actually ordered two of the same blazer.

For me, it's a hassle to return items that I purchase by mistake, or are not the right size.

I usually gift the item to someone I know, who I think may be able to use it.

In this instance, it was my sister.

I asked her if she wanted the additional blazer since we are about the same size.

She in fact did.

You can never own too many black blazers, right?

I still have the blazer in my possession, and I have since learned how much my sister likes the color blue.

As such, I decided to add blue paint to her black blazer.

The goal was not to paint the entire blazer blue, but to add splashes of blue to the black.

Spray Painted Blazer - The Process

I decided to buy bottles to pour paint in, and spray.

I prepared the blue paint, and began spraying the back of blazer.

I came back an hour later, and found that the blue paint was almost invisible.

When I was close enough to see the paint, it looked purple, not blue.

As I reflect on it now, I could have added a second coat of paint to cause the blue color to come through.

Instead, I aimed to spray paint the blazer with other brighter colors.

I started with silver.

I then added magenta.

Last, I added burnt orange.

I wanted to include red, and turquoise also, but the spray bottles with those colors were not functioning properly.

The blazer came out looking decent, and I was pleased.

If I were to wear it, I would pair it with an all black outfit.

It looks better when it is being worn, as opposed to it lying flat, or being on a hangar.

At first, I planned to keep it for myself, but I am now thinking that I may put it up for sale in my Etsy shop.

Oh, and the blazer that I promised my sister?

I believe I am going to use the remaining black blazer and take one more shot at painting the blazer blue.
